Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog day!
I am sooooo ready for spring!  I was off yesterday for a doctor appointment so mom and I were planning to shop since my birthday is just 5 days away! WELL it rained so hard until we got about halfway to Texarkana then the temperature started dropping.  When I arrived at the doctor it was 36 degrees and the wind was blowing sooo hard.  It was like a blizzard wthout the white stuff!  ANYWAYS  the doctor appointment was fine, I am healthy  :)

Shopping was short lived!  It was to cold and miserable to get out of the car.  I did aquire a kitchen sink and some new running shoes.  I must reunite with the farm road now that I have new shoes!  Operation new kitchen has been slow going for the last few months but now that I have a sink, cabinet hardware and a painter things will pick back up.  YAH!  Whatever will I do if I don't have a "project" going on?

My weekend with J was WONDERFUL!   I had so much fun hanging out with the peeps of the trailer hood :)   I love my life!!   J is such a sweetheart, I wonder how I got so lucky!

This weekend is the youth duck hunt, J is taking Dyl duck hunting for the first time... I so hope he kills a duck!  I have to write a research paper... blah!

Slumber Party Thursday!

Slumber party Thursday is one of my favorite days of the week!
Dylan has a slumber party with Nana and Paw and I slumber party with J!  

This week has been ok, Dylan had a dentist appointment yesterday.   No cavities YAH!  We discussed braces, not cool!   I am praying I win the lottery before that time. 

My diet ...well it blows!  I do soo good but then I do sooo bad.   Summer is almost here I got to get my abs whipped into shape... I told myself I can't get a new bikini til the 10 pounds are off so there is my motivation.  Why do I just want to nap and not exercies?  Its like I am in  hybernate mode still!

Its 10 days til my birthday ...woot woot ... How will I celebrate this year?

A glimpse of January

Dylan made the honor roll...how's that for a child of divorce(and child of a teen mom)! He informed me the other day that he isn't going to college. He wants to work at Game Stop when he grows up, I am more than a little concerned!

We had a snow day a few weeks ago. I had the time of my life playing in it with another single mom and our children. We tied a knee board to the four wheeler with a ski rope and had a blast! I had to go get a massage the next day because obviously I am not as young as I used to be :)

We also celebrated Lori's lil boy Parkers 9th Birthday!  The party was at the skating rink! I think us adults had just as much fun as the kids, I MAY have even burned off the calories that was in the ice cream cake!

I think something died in my house... When I was cleaning Sunday I kept smelling something and I was convinced it was coming from my dishwasher. Well the dishwasher has been throughly bleached and that isn't it. This morning it is stronger and I can't find the source... my solution is to move... its that bad! I called for reinforcements though! Mom and granny will be there at noon to locate and kill the stench! I am mortified!

School has begun... I spend most of my weekend posting on discussion boards, taking quizzes and doing homework. I kick myself every semester, why must I subject myself to such torture? Then I remember - summers off! Teachers get the summers off so I can enjoy lounging by the pool every day ...

This is the last week of duck season! I get to make the trek to the trailer park for the end of season gathering YAAAH! I have missed going to the trailer park...

My birthday month is coming up! YAH for Black History Month, my birthday, Mardi gras, and Valentines! February is pretty awesome if I don't say so myself!

I am going to give blogging a shot :)

I am a 30something single mom with a zest for life! Dylan is almost 14 and with him everyday is a new adventure... I never thought I would love the teen years! I am hopelessly and crazy in love with my boyfriend :) My friends and family are the best! Without them I would not have survived all of life's little bumps (or in some cases ditches).

During the day I am work at the local University and by night I am a waitress. Graduate school is a thorn in my side but I only have 4 classes to go! Then I will be certified to teach, WOOT, WOOT!
